Who do you love?

Here's a little mental exercise to help get your priorities straight. This topic came up in a conversation I was having with my youngest daughter(don't ask how it came up). Make a list(not necessarily in order) of just who you would take a bullet for. If it helps, make up a scenario. Say a crazed gunman was drawing down on a group of your loved ones. Which ones would you jump in front of a bullet for to prevent death or injury? Or would you do it for just any body, a total stranger?

Now I admit that I am pretty much a coward. I don't like pain and I usually do my best to avoid it. And I have no desire to die before my time. But who would I risk life and limb for?Would you do it for a child? Any child? When my kids were little, I think I would have instinctually done just about any thing to protect them. But how about now that they are grown? Would the old reflexes kick in? Same thing when my wife was pregnant, I felt protective(some sort of Darwinian imperative?).

For me It's a short list. How about you?
