Teen facing 'hate crime' count over spat

I found this item on one of those right wing anti-gay websites. I'm having a hard time figuring out which side i come down on. My knee jerk reaction was to condemn the Bible thumping red neck kid. He was obviously wrong to verbalize his thoughts on the same sex couple. At the very least it was bad manners. On the other hand the attitude of the "victim" was less than tolerant.
